Al-Karim Govindji is the Director and Service Area Manager for Energy Management within DNV GL’s Energy Advisory practice covering the EMEA region. His teams support governments, multilateral development banks, industrials and utilities on a range of programmes, including on policy impacts to drive energy efficiency, demand side management, site energy efficiency and environmental compliance.
Prior to this Al-Karim worked at The Carbon Trust, with an emphasis on technology innovation. Al-Karim ran a global programme for the UN as part of the Sustainable Energy for All called the Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator; in partnership with UNIDO. Al-Karim was responsible at The Carbon Trust for running a £9m UK Government industrial innovation demonstration programme. Al-Karim has also delivered projects in China and Japan that harness the UK’s offshore wind expertise to identify opportunities for cost reduction and he managed a smart meter project for Colombia and a policy project for Malaysia to promote CHP in industry. Prior to that, Al-Karim had a career in management consulting and banking, working with A.T. Kearney and Bank of America.
Joe Wadsworth is Head of I&C Sales and Partnerships, Good Energy. Joe heads up the business sales team at Good Energy focused on larger business sales, corporate partnerships and the broker channel.
